NOTE: Just to make sure everybody understands. GrabIt is an easy to use program that has a familiar looking user interface - Care has been taken to make the downloading of binaries as fast and easy as possible. It's nice to have something actually fixed.GrabIt 1.7.2 Beta 4 Build 997 Description: Three reboots since I did the tweak, and Network was fine on all of them. voila disabled that sucker and rebooted and only one network MyNetwork and Internet to boot Steps to takeįIND: Id_String2.6844F930_1628_4223_B5CC_5BB94B87 9762 in the list Thanks to Krull Kitty!!! I kept looking for Bonjour in the services list and didnt see itīut since Krull posted the id of it. If you set both "Network and Sharing Center" and "My Computer" to the same name it seems to work ok on a reboot! C'mon Microsoft - Windows 7 is looking good but please fix these annoying bugs!! This took me a few hours to work out trial and error. Mine was set to the default "WORKGROUP" which is different from what I had set in "Network and Sharing Center". Now Click "Change" for "rename this computer or change its domain or workgroup". NB** Make sure the name you have here is the same workgroup name as what you selected in Network and Sharing Centre. check that is the same as you set up under "Network and Sharing Center" ie home or work. Click "Change settings" for "My computer, domain and workgroup settings". This worked for me: Go to "My Computer" and right click and choose properties. On a reboot, Windows 7 must be picking up those settings, but then uses the other settings in "Network and Sharing Center" when trying to connect hence the "unidentified network" error (which I think must be the "WORKGROUP" default network not what I changed it to using the wizard". Basically what I think was happening is that the "Network and Sharing Center" wizard doesn't update the system settings for My Computer automatically. I had set my network up using the "Network and Sharing Center" after an Upgrade to Windows 7 from Vista. I ensured I had the latest network adapter driver. Could not connect to my LAN or internet unless I did a manual enable/disable of the network adapter. I had the same problem where "Unidentified Network" and the 'park bench' icon came up. Win 7 32bit RC, Zyxel G202 wireless usb adapter, old Athlon XP 1800 self build box that works great otherwise. I would understand if it didn't work at all (for some reason - bad driver, old hardware, etc), but the network adapter is new and it does connect about 50-60% of the time - it's the random lack of network connectivity that mistifies me (and probably others here). I've been playing with Win 7 for several weeks and this is the only true negative issue I have found - other than lack of driver support for older hardware, but I somewhat expected that. when I set up the wireless network originally I told it to automatically connect to that network at start-up. if I enter both of those it will sometimes connect and other times not. If I select the "unidentified" network it prompts for SSID and encrypt key. randomly no network connectivity after reboot - unidentified network with no Home Network established. : Disabled Here is a picture of all the programs i have installed: : Teredo Tunneling Pseudo-Interface Physical Address. : Yes Tunnel adapter Local Area Connection*: Connection-specific DNS Suffix. : Microsoft ISATAP Adapter Physical Address. : Media disconnected Connection-specific DNS Suffix. : Enabled Tunnel adapter isatap.: Media State. ![]() : Realtek RTL8168B/8111B Family PCI-E Gigab it Ethernet NIC (NDIS 6.20) Physical Address. : No Ethernet adapter Local Area Connection: Connection-specific DNS Suffix. I do the same as all of you and disable and enable my nic which fixes the problem of no internet. I have the same problem where every time i reboot i have an unidentified network along with my home network.
